The First International Conference on Forgiving and Being Forgiven within an Inter/Intra Cultural Perspective will be held on February 1st and 2nd, 2023, Bar-Ilan University, Israel.

The concept of forgiveness has been elaborated in the fields of psychology, sociology, anthropology, moral philosophy, religion studies and spirituality practice, ethics, legal studies, economy and more. This concept have countless cultural manifestations, relevant to the progress of criminology, victimology, positive criminology, restorative justice and conflict transformation. However, this broad concept has not been explored enough. Thefore the aim of the conference is to explore from a multi-cultural perspective of people’s varied experience with ‘Forgiveness’: the benefits, obstacles, or risks that can come from the process, for everyone involved.

Victim Support Europe and Weisser Ring are organizing an annual conference entitled Protecting fundamental freedoms, a victim’s perspective!, which will take place on June 7, 8 and 9, 2023 in Berlin, Germany.

The first day of the conference will be dedicated to the protection of the victim’s fundamental freedoms and the question of how professionals can catch up with the challenges of new emerging types of crime and how does this impact the victim? The second day of the conference will be oriented towards practitioners from law enforcement, while the third, final day of the conference will be dedicated to professionals who work directly with victims of crime and  issues of resilience  and self-care.
